The Cochrane Collaboration is a not-for-profit, independent organization formed in 1993, consisting of more than 11,500 people in over 90 countries. Many of them are health care specialists.
They do rigorous, systematic reviews of high-quality clinical trials on the use of conventional and alternative treatments for various diseases.
Each published review, called a Cochrane review, focuses on evaluating a single treatment, condition, or research question and tries to evaluate and interpret all the high-quality research evidence on the topic to help health professionals and others make informed decisions about health care.
