Headache, upset stomach, unquenchable thirst, and all-around crankiness are just a few of the symptoms suffered when you've sipped a few too many cocktails. But while waiting out your hangover is the only real cure for the pain of overindulgence, certain natural remedies for a hangover might help you recover.
Along with getting plenty of sleep and drinking lots of water, try eating a spoonful or two of honey (a source of fructose, which helps your body burn alcohol more rapidly). There's also some evidence that supplements containing prickly pear cactus extract can help alleviate the nausea and dry mouth associated with hangovers.
To keep from getting hit with a hangover next time you drink, make sure to sip slowly and stick with one type of alcohol. Alternating each alcoholic beverage with a glass of water and drinking only on a full stomach might help stave off next-day misery as well.

Thanks Cathy. I think another great natural approach to hangovers is homeopathy. Nux vomica 30c will help if you feel grumpy and chilly and your digestion is disturbed. China 30c is great if you feel weak and dehydrated.
The good thing is the common hangover is very well studied and understood. This way we can use natural remedies to counteract the affects of the hangover.
Thanks for the tip about the honey. I’m going to look more into that. Too bad I didn’t know this in my undergrad!
