Can Essiac Conquer Cancer?

Wednesday June 17, 2009
In the early 1920s, a Canadian public health nurse named Rene Caisse began treating cancer patients with an herbal formula she claimed could help fight their disease. Although medical authorities deemed the treatment ineffective, Essiac has since gained popularity among those aiming to conquer cancer.

Essiac contains four herbs: burdock, slippery elm inner bark, sheep sorrel, and Indian rhubarb root. Proponents claim that the formula can stimulate immunity, alleviate pain, boost energy, curb inflammation, and even shrink tumors and extend survival. However, there's little scientific evidence to support such claims, and one study even shows that Essiac may promote the growth of breast cancer cells.

Although Essiac may not benefit people coping with cancer, preliminary research suggests that burdock could enhance wellness by fighting free radicals, improving liver health, and spurring the growth of probiotics (immune-regulating bacteria naturally present in the human digestive tract).

There have been many herbs/drugs that have come along and been effective in fighting & healing one of cancer. The problem is the medical industry, the multi-billion dollar medical industry that never cures anyone ever, can’t control them, so they refuse to study &/or utilize them. They also refuse to tell people about them & to tell cancer patients that chemo is nitrogen mustard used in chemical warfare. Their problem is they fail to understand that putting oneself in the place of God does not make one God.

A. Essiac works
B. It does NOT promote breast cancer. Citing one study is ridiculous.
C. My parents were desperate for something to help my mom with her breast cancer. They are NOT into alternative medicine AT ALL. However after much research, they decided to supplement my mom’s treatment with Essiac tea. It SAVED her life. The doctor at USC were floored by how much my mom’s tumor reduced. Big pharmacy doesn’t want you to know this, of course. Do yourselves a favor Americans – change your diet (check out the RAVE diet or raw food diet for cancer patients) and drink ESSIAC tea. My mom had a host of other medical conditions and it was gentle enough that she could do it. She had ZERO chemo side effects also minus losing hair.
D. Ignore big pharmacy and big medicine who are just trying to please reps and make money – take your health into your own hands.

My husband has an 8cm by 10 cm tumor on his Kidney which is malignant. Now we’ve had a biopsy as they believe this is actually a secondary site.We are still waiting for Pathology reports. In the mean time he started taking Essiac(tonic style. Not tea)He hasnt eaten more than 1 meal a week for a month, since starting Essiac he’s up to 2 meals a day and feeling better..This has only been 5 days now.Dear friends of our family are into Alternative approaches to health and purchased the Essiac for him,Im glad they did.Our medical Drs however havnt given us one ounce of support. We will continue to use it and see where it goes..I dont know if I can watch him waste away doing Chemo..We have 8 children..But I can certainly enjoy watching him eating dinner with the rest of our family and getting some newly found energy to enjoy his days again.Thank You Rene.M.Caisse..for persevering.

Have just learned I have a 9cm mass in my left kidney most likely malignant. No spread to lungs but bone scan results not back yet. Kidney will have to be removed. What I would like to know is if anyone here has used or is considering using Essiac. Heard both pros and cons and do not know who to trust.
