Cold Remedy Airborne Settles Lawsuit
The makers of Airborne, a popular natural cold remedy, have agreed to refund money to consumers as part of a $23.3 million settlement of a class-action lawsuit for false advertising. The company doesn't claim any wrongdoing or illegal conduct.
Airborne contains vitamins A, C and E, magnesium, zinc, selenium, herbs and other ingredients. The product became popular after its founder, a school teacher, appeared on Oprah.
Ads for Airborne initially touted that its products could prevent and treat colds. In February, 2006, however, an ABC News report questioned the validity of a clinical trial that Airborne used as proof that the products worked. Shortly after, the false advertising lawsuit was filed.
To learn more about the settlement, the company has set up a website, airbornehealthsettlement.com.

It’s a shame that they started out with the “Cure The Cold” claim to begin with. It is a great supplement. I can’t stomach most of the HUGE pills that a multivitamin comes in, but with Airborne, I can sip it down with no upset stomach and no forcing down of huge pills.
To me, that alone makes it worth it.
It’s amazing isn’t it? People can try to their best til they are blue in the face still they get beaten down. No wonder they won’t claim any wrong_doings, what the hell is wrong with trying to cure the cold. It would stop people staying off work and feeling bloody miserable. I couldn’t..still can’t to spend time off work with anything. So I used to go in anyway, which of course spreads it even more..aaaargh!Catch bloody 22. I’m sick of it. People are trying I rally my mp’s and ask for their help when I think I am being treated unfairly, most of them are also trying to do their best too. People shoud be focusing on bigger issues rather than making mountains out of molehills.
Sorry turned into a bigger rant than i thought..*kicks soapbox to one side..stomps off stage left*.
