In about 75% of the world's population, a genetic trait causes levels of lactase (the enzyme that breaks down lactose) to start irreversibly decreasing during early childhood. By adulthood, most lactase activity is lost.

Many people who think they are lactose intolerant are simply suffering from modern milk production methods and that fact that cows milk is intended not for humans, but for baby COWS!
