Yoga for Back Pain - The Supported Bridge Pose
Sunday October 8, 2006
The supported bridge pose takes the pelvic tilt a step further by putting it in space. By elevating the pelvis we remove the familiar support coming from the floor, calling on the abs and back muscles to really stretch and provide support.
The result is stronger, smarter core muscles, which improves posture and helps the body become centered and aligned. A collaboration between Ann Pizer, About's yoga guide and Anne Asher, About's guide to back and neck injury, learn about the benefits and precautions and get instructions on how to do the supported bridge pose.
