Who Uses Complementary and Alternative Medicine?

A landmark study on the use of complementary and alternative medicine appeared in 1993 in the New England Journal of Medicine. The researchers, led by David Eisenberg, MD, now the director of Complementary and Integrative Medical Therapies at Harvard, conducted telephone interviews with 1539 adults across the United States. Here are their findings about who uses complementary and alternative medicine.
