Study Finds Acupuncture Effective for Arthritis Pain

With the recent safety concerns of Vioxx, Celebrex, and other cox-2 inhibitor pain drugs, there is increasing interest in alternative, safe ways of reducing chronic arthritis pain. A landmark study published in the December 21, 2004, issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine found that acupuncture provides pain relief and improves function for people with osteoarthritis of the knee.
